Back here i blogged about the coming of power to our block. That was 8 months ago and during a couple of visits since nothing seemed to eventuate so the excitement ebbed and that was that. Then, like a bolt out of the blue ( pardon the pun ) we get a call from Juntha our man in Kep and he tells us the power has now indeed been laid straight past our block and we owe him the grand sum of $100. As we had lent him $50 when he was in Phnom Penh last time for his Police training, we just had to give him $50. We are told power will cost 800r per kw which is very cheap by Cambodia’s standard. I said to Leakhana that must now make our land worth at least $10million and maybe we should sell ? She snorted and was not amused.
